Classification of automotive shock absorbers..

1. Hydraulic shock absorber
Hydraulic shock absorber is widely used in automobile suspension system. The principle is that when the frame and the axle do reciprocating relative motion, the piston moves reciprocating in the cylinder of the shock absorber, the oil in the shock absorber housing will repeatedly flow from the inner cavity through some narrow pores into another inner cavity. At this time, the friction between the liquid and the inner wall and the internal friction of the liquid molecules form a damping force on the vibration.

2. Inflatable shock absorber
Inflatable shock absorber is a new type of shock absorber developed since 1960s. Its structure is characterized by a floating piston in the lower part of the cylinder, and a closed air chamber formed between the floating piston and one end of the cylinder is filled with high-pressure nitrogen. The floating piston is equipped with a large section O-ring seal, which completely separates the oil and gas. The working piston is equipped with a compression valve and a stretching valve that change the cross-sectional area of the channel with the size of its moving speed.

When the wheel beats up and down, the working piston of the shock absorber does reciprocating movement in the oil, so that the oil pressure difference between the upper chamber and the lower chamber of the working piston is generated, and the pressure oil will push the compression valve and the expansion valve and flow back and forth. Because the valve has a large damping force on the pressure oil, the vibration is attenuated.

3. Adjustable resistance shock absorber

The suspension of the automobile equipped with the resistance adjustable shock absorber generally uses the air spring with variable stiffness as the elastic element. The principle is that if the air pressure of the air spring increases, the pressure in the shock absorber gas chamber also increases, and the throttle aperture of the oil changes due to the change of pressure, so as to achieve the goal of changing the damping stiffness. The shock absorber is a vulnerable part in the use of the car, and the work of the shock absorber will directly affect the smoothness of the car and the life of other parts, so we should make the shock absorber often in good working condition.

The following methods can be used to check whether the shock absorber is working well.

1. Make the car stop after driving 10km on the road with poor road conditions, and touch the shock absorber shell with your hand. If it is not hot enough, it indicates that there is no resistance inside the shock absorber and the shock absorber does not work. At this time, you can add the appropriate lubricating oil, and then the test, if the shell is hot, it is the lack of oil inside the shock absorber, should add enough oil; Otherwise, it indicates that the shock absorber fails.

2. Press the bumper hard, and then release, if the car has 2 to 3 jumps, it means that the shock absorber is good. 3. When the car is driving slowly and braking in an emergency, if the car vibration is more severe, it indicates that there is a problem with the shock absorber.

4. Remove the shock absorber upright, and the lower end of the connection ring clamped on the pliers, pull the pressure damping rod several times, at this time there should be stable resistance, pull up (recovery) resistance should be greater than the resistance to the downward pressure, such as unstable or no resistance, may be the shock absorber internal oil or valve parts damaged, should be repaired or replaced parts.
